Q: How do I sign up and what am I getting for my money?

A: Head over to the membership page to find out!

Q: When, what and where are the next socials, trips, gym sessions or surfskate lessons?

A: All the info about our upcoming events should be available on our Instagram page! trip releases happen over email so as long as you're a member of the club, you should receive these as they come out. For any email issues, send an email to our secretary at secretary-surf@gusa.gla.ac.uk

Q: I've never surfed before, am I still allowed to join?

A: Of course!! Most of our members are complete newbies to surfing and the mission of the society is to get people out there and make it more accessible. Even if you've got no interest whatsoever in surfing, the weekly socials and trips are still amazing ways to meet new people and get out in nature. Everyone is welcome!

Q: I'm only at Glasgow for one semester or I'm joining half way through the year. Can I still join the society and is it still the same price?

A: Of course you can join, we offer semester only memberships at a discounted price and you can get a discounted semester only off peak gym membership (see the membership page for more info)

A: Throughout freshers and refreshers (the months of September and January) we offer a discounted early bird membership price of £25 for a year membership and £15 for a semester membership. Outside of these dates the cost is £30 for the year and £20 for a semester. Check out the membership page to find more about how to sign up and what you're getting access to as a member.

Q: What trips do we do?

A: Each semester we run two weekend trips throughout the UK, as well as day trips to give as many people the chance to surf as possible! We also run two trips abroad each year, one in winter and one in summer, check out the trips page for more info

Q: How do I find out about the trips?

A: When there is a trip coming out we will post about it on our social media, as well as send out an email with all the details you need. Check those socials and feel free to ask committee about potential plans!

Q: How do I sign up for a trip?

A: Trip sign ups are done by the first to pay either the full amount of the trip or the deposit (specified for each trip basis). In the email sent out with details about the trip, there will be details about the signup date and time, too (eg Sunday at 3pm) which is when you will transfer the club the amount needed, as well as receive an email with a signup form to fill out. Our trips are fist come first serve and we've had 60 person trips sell out in under 30 seconds before! Good luck!

Q: How do I sign up for a day trip?

A: Day trips are done slightly differently as they are not done on a first come first-served basis - it is done based on priority and if you have already been on a trip or not. To sign up there will be an email sent out to your Student email with a form to fill out, and you'll find out if you got a spot  two or three days later.
